Imagine Tomorrow teaches kids that technology is not just for fun, but it is a tool, a means of self expression. These words have meaning to me not only as a teacher, but as a mother as well. My son started Imagine Tomorrow computer classes right when he turned 3. His interest in computer technology was just blossoming as he was enthralled with painting trains on thomasandfriends.com. Imagine Tomorrow helped provide context to what technology was and what it could do.
Once his eyes were opened to the world of technology, there was no turning back. Now at age 5 ½, he can use a Wii remote, he play his Nintendo DS unassisted, he knows how to access the iTunes App Store, go to the ‘Top 25’ and ‘Top Free’ section and search for apps to download on his own (luckily I still have to provide the password to download!) He can navigate my Android cell phone better than I can. Whenever he wants to know the answer to a question I don’t know, he asks me to look it up on Wikipedia (the random questions like what do Kangaroos eat?). He loves playing online games at cartoonnetwork.com and visiting other flash based game sites I have pre reviewed and approved. He will ask to watch episodes of cartoon shows on YouTube. He even loves drawing in MSPaint and uses Excel as an art program by coloring the cells and making pictures.
I am grateful that I came to find Imagine Tomorrow when I did. Technology is going to play a greater role in every aspects of our lives as time moves forward. I truly feel my son’s journey into technology has provided him a means to grow socially, emotionally and intellectually. He is already asking his daddy about HTML and how to build a website. Maybe he can learn and teach me, too!

Thanks for sharing. Children, like your son, who understand the power of technology, will be tomorrow's leaders.
