Kids on Computers During Summer? Why, Yes!

I realize it is important for all of us to 'disconnect' at times. Do you check everytime you hear your smart phone 'beep' to see who your latest message is from? I know it's hard not to!

Summer is a great time to disconnect and enjoy the great outdoors. It's also a great time to keep your child's mind stimulated!! I bumped into a mom at the store. Her son takes Imagine Tomorrow classes during the school year and he was really enthusiastic to see me.

But she was a little more hesitant. She wasn't sure if it was "OK" that her son was on the computer this summer, or if he should be disconnected. I agree that kids time on any technology should be limited, as appropriate. But all parents should capitalize on a child's sincere enthusiasm for an educational program like Imagine Tomorrow!

If you can't get your child into a local Imagine Tomorrow camp, at least continue with logging into the Adventure Journal to recap on past lessons, practice the letters and keyboarding, and stay fresh with the academic activities for reinforcement at home.

Consider enrolling in a camp before the summer ends to get your child back into the swing and routine of an educational program before school starts back up!

Keep exercising your child's mind this summer with Imagine Tomorrow.
